Week 2 Prepare

Unite & Rise Week 2: PREPARE

This Labor Day, we honor the generations of working people who helped shape our communities, strengthen our country, and expand the promise of American democracy. Our democracy is strongest when every person has a voice — at work, in their community, and at the ballot box.

Welcome to Week 2 of the Unite & Rise Civic Action challenge. This week’s theme is PREPARE. Last week, you built a Civic Circle and started the first conversation. This week is about following through. A trusted source is not someone who knows every election rule. It is someone who knows where to find reliable information, shares it without judgment, and stays involved long enough to help another person use it.

Your Civic Circle action is to follow up with anyone whose registration status or next step remains unresolved. Use the official resources supplied by LWVAR and help at least one person find the information they need. You can send this message (personalize it to sound like you):

Hi! I wanted to follow up on my message from last week. Were you able to confirm that your voter registration information is current? I’m happy to share the official resource provided by the League or help you find the next step.

Your League action is to sign up for a National Voter Registration Day event, registration table, or volunteer shift with your local chapter.  If your chapter has not announced an opportunity, reach out and ask how you can help.

After you complete your actions, log them in the Civic Action Tracker. Then invite one friend to volunteer with you. Preparation is what turns good intentions into meaningful action. Together, we Unite & Rise.
